Fun @ Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands in Pahang is one of Malaysia's most popular tourist destinations, a collection of peaceful townships perched 1500 meters high on a nest of serene mountains. Cooling resorts, tea plantations and strawberry farms sprawl lazily across lush valleys and meandering hillslopes, the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday.

The sea of tranquility, pleasant landscapes and cold climate impart a special experience upon the multitudes of visitors each year. Meanwhile, a different world lies hidden away among the natural surroundings - a rainforest ecosystem rich with the wonders of nature, long held with fascination by researchers and naturalists across the world.

Tea Plantation

No trip to Cameron Highlands is complete without a trip to the tea plantations. This is one of the main attraction that's got to be in your "must see" list. You can visit the factories to learn about the tea making process and you can also sit down and enjoy a cup of tea at the cafe. The view overlooking the plantations is beautiful and perfect for the picture album.
The 3 most famous tea plantations are :

- Boh Tea Plantation
- Sungai Palas Tea Plantation
- Cameron Valley Tea Plantation

Strawberry Farms

Strawberry farms can be found almost everywhere in Cameron Highlands. All offer locally grown strawberries and home made strawberry jams and a very cheap price. Some strawberry farms will let you pluck your own strawberries and charge you according to the weight. Here is a list of some of the popular strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands :

- Big Red Strawberry Farm
- Healthy Strawberry Farm
- Kasimani's Strawberry Farm
- KHM Strawberry Farm
- Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm

Flower Nurseries

Cameron Highlands is the leading producer of fresh flowers in Malaysia. Most of the flower nurseries are centered around Bertam Valley and all along the way from Brinchang to Kg.Raja.

At the flower gardens and nurseries, be dazzled with the mix of colors and species being grown here. The common flowers grown here are roses, carnations, chrysanthemum, dalia, geranium, fuschia and gladioli. You can buy cheap flowers at these nurseries or any market around the highland.

Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden is one of two such adjoining parks in Kea Farm along the main road to Tringkap, 3km after Brinchang town or 7km from Tanah Rata, and a stone's throw away from Equatorial Resort. One of Cameron Highland's oldest tourist attractions; it's essentially a garden enclosure built along a hill slope, filled with free-flying butterflies and strange insects displayed in aquariums. The park also has a tortoise pen, scorpion pond, reptile exhibits, mini insectarium and a small zoo section (mostly domestic animals). Open daily, tickets are MYR5 per adult and MYR2 for children; a garden caretaker kindly gives visitors a free guided tour when available.

Robinson Falls

The Robinson Falls is a waterfall about 2km away from Tanah Rata town. At the T-junction next to the bus station, turn right to a road that leads past Century Pines Resort and a large field. Just before the road ends, take another right turn which ends at a small row of houses; left is where a small bridge starts over a drain that leads to Robinson Falls. The jungle walk winds for about 10 minutes before the waterfall greets you; visitors may notice the waters emitting a strong stench - This is the result of farming activities polluting the river that feeds Robinson Falls from upstream. After a quick photo, you can head back or proceed further on the jungle walk.
